The <code>longcalls</code> directive enables or disables function call
relaxation. See <a href="Xtensa-Call-Relaxation.html#Xtensa-Call-Relaxation">Function Call Relaxation</a>.

<p>Call relaxation is disabled by default unless the <span class="samp">--longcalls</span>
command-line option is specified. The <code>longcalls</code> directive
overrides the default determined by the command-line options.
